The next Messenger Bag is Completed, too!

This bag was a custom bag for a good friend.  I made the bag two inches wider than the pattern called for.  I actually really like this size.  It seems that it will be more versatile because it has a bit more space.  I even added a special pleated glasses case pocket inside based on my friends request.  I love that the outside is so neutral, and the inside is so much fun!

The Bogota Bag is completed!

Here it is!  I love the finished product!  The fabric is awesome, and with the interfacing it should be really durable!

After a glass and a half of wine, can I sew a straight line?

A Bogota Bag!

This bag is being made for a friend who is going to Bogota on a missions trip this summer.  She needed a durable bag that would be difficult to pick pocket.

The bag is made with an upholstery fabric on the outside and a coordinating fabric on the inside.  The outside of the bag is completely interfaced with heavy fusible interfacing to give the bag shape and strength.

The bag also has an inside zip...courtesy of Lisa Lam's book...The Bag Making Bible.  Lisa Lam has a great tutorial in there on how to install a concealed zip in almost any bag.

Here are the beginning photos.  The pattern is from the book that is pictured.  The book is great.  Lots of fun projects and really easy to understand directions.
The finished bag pictures will be posted soon!

Silent Auction Messenger Bag...

This is a new messenger bag that I made...It is for a silent auction to benefit a young family and their two children who have serious medical conditions.

The outside is a light green colored duck cloth for durability.  The inside is a neat Amy Butler Home Dec fabric that I have been wanting to use.  It seems like it will be a good spring bag!

The bag is very durable and has a good feel.  With the duck cloth on the outside and the home dec fabric on the inside, plus the fusible fleece... this bag is sturdy!
