The New Messenger Bag!

Here is my latest creation... My friend is leaving for South Africa for school.  She needed a durable, pick pocket proof bag to use.

These books are where I found the patterns.

This is the finished bag... a fun messenger made with black canvas type material on the outside and fun purple batik on the inside.

This is a close up of the handle.

Here is the front closure, hiding three pockets.

Side view...

This is the front of the bag with the flap completely open and pulled up.

Here is a picture of the interior of the bag.

I decided to try a hidden top zipper.  I thought that would make the bag less easy to get into by some one other than it's owner!  :)  I also added an interior zipper pocket to keep important things...

My first go at this type of zipper!

  1. I love bags that are plain on the outside and then open up into something bright inside.

    1. Thank you so much, Wendy! This bag is really quite easy to make and very fun. It is a great size and functions well. Some bags look cute, but don't "work" very well. This one is both! I love fun fabric, some people don't like the outside of the bag to be so wild, so then I put the wild on the inside! Have a great day, Wendy!
